As director of this production of The Odd Couple, I would like to say this has been one of the most enjoyable casts I have worked with. I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and suggestions on how to make the show better. This is a tribute to the artistic talent we have in our community. I have also had lots of fun with this script, but then who can beat Neil Simon for writing comedy!
This show has been a lot more fun than work. I have had the privilege to participate in many Calumet Players productions and have had the opportunity to learn a little more with every show. My thanks to my fellow board members for allowing me to direct this show and to all the people that get involved to put a show like this together. Thank you to everyone, especially my cast, my stage manager, and my patient husband, who have had to put up with me during this show.
If you enjoyed The Odd Couple, I hope you will take the time to check out our future productions. In June, we look forward to putting on The Orphans. This is another comedy/drama, about two ladies, orphaned at an early age, who have never left their apartment building. Follow them as they discover their "nephew" is really a con-artist and their "neighbor" is a lady of the evening. Come and see how it all turns out!
