Director's Notes

"Just one little lie. Who's going to know?" - yeah, right! Even though this play is filled with several good-hearted big laughs, it does teach us a valuable moral lesson.  Tonight you will see how easily one white lie can lead to another...Enjoy the chaos these characters bring upon themselves, because who knows, maybe you might find yourself in a similar situation someday (although, hopefully not as extreme.) Be true to yourself and those you love and I promise - you'll never have to be a cross-dresser!

As for this cast - what a treat for the Calumet Players! New faces, excellent talent, and such enthusiasm.  It has truly been a great experience working with the most down to earth and funny people of this cast.  My only regret is that this is my final show with them.  I do hope you will see these faces in future shows, so that you can continue enjoying them as I have.  Thank you Calumet Players and Your audiences for making this a proud milestone in my career.

- W. James Wood -

P.S. A special thank you to Mr. F.L. Oppie, without whom this show would never have succeeded.

Cast Biographies

Brent Meulebroeck, Pipestone, MN
Student at PJHS and employee of DC Strategies, Inc. "I've been involved in four productions, but this is is only my second time on stage - usually I'm a tech.  I've had a great time rehearsing with this cast.  It's been lots of fun! I look forward to being involved in theatre in the future."

Jonathon Michael Morgan, Pipestone, MN
Student at PJHS and employee of Pipestone Interiors. "I have been involved in theatre for about six years.  I started out as a tech crew person, and for the past two years I have been an actor.  I'll never forget wearing tights...ouch. It's nice to work with new people.  I also get to work with my best friend Brent, much to the grief of Jim.  I love this show and the people in it.  Go tech crew!"

Timothy Joel Polaschek, Hatfield, MN
Employed at Schwan's-CSR.  "This play is very funny and action packed.  I enjoyed being in it very much.  I got to know a lot of great popel that I normally wouldn't have.  All I know is, if you put ambitious and excited moinds together the end product come out golden.  Thank you. Enjoy the show."

Jessica Potts, Woodstock, MN
Employee of Pipestone County Museum. "I have had a blast! I want to send a special thank you out to Becca, for encouraging me to try out for this play.  I couldn't imagine working with a nicer or funnier group of people.  I'll never forget all the funny stories and laughs that we've shared.  I hope you enjoy this play as much as I have!"

Chris Roelfsema-Hummel, Pipestone, MN
Director of the Pipestone County Museum.  "I have really enjoyed being part of this cast-even though my character has no redeeming qualities.  My favorite scene is the chase/fight between Leslie and Jon in Act 3.  I've also been amused by Tim's ad-libs when he forgot a line during rehearsal.  This is a group of very funny people.  I hope you enjoy the show as much as we have."

Sandy Walter, Pipestone, MN
Director of Nursing at Ashton Care Center. "Some of the perks of being involved in theatre include developing new traits ('I need to be aggressive AND controlling?') and drawing from past experiences (This time I land on the couch instead of the floor). It has been a truly enjoyable experience working with old friends and new friends - we've had so much fun (right Marty?)!"

Linda Westly, Pipestone, MN
Employed by Dr. Ron Rasmussen. "Being in this play has been a very rewarding experience.  Working with everyone has been great and we do lots of laughing.  In a few scenes I thought to myself, 'I have to do what?!!' No matter what kind of a day I had - I get together with these guys, laugh, have a good time at practice and I leave feeling good.  Enjoy the play!"

W. James Wood, Sioux Falls, SD
Manager of Sycamore Subway.  "This is the second time I have donned the tights to play Leslie and this cast is definitely more fun. I directed Steel Magnolias and And Then There Were None for the Calumet Players.  This show marks the 35th and final production I will be involved with in this area as I head off to Mankato in the fall to pursue an MFA in directing.  'I didn't touch her - only her lips!"
