"Kitchen Witches"
by Caroline Smith
Show times
7:30 pm except Sunday at 2:00 pm
Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two "mature" cable-access cooking show
hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Stephen Biddle
dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV
show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food!
Dolly's long-suffering TV-producer
daughter Stephanie tries to keep them on track, but
as long as Dolly's dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel's,
it's a losing battle, and the show becomes a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel
top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer!
The Calumet Players welcome back Director Paul Gliarmis from Brookings, SD for
this fun filled comedy. Janet Timmerman of Lake Wilson is returning to the
Calumet Players after ten year absence as Isobel Lomax, the Martha Stewart-like
character who has to have everything organized and "just so." Sylvia Newell a
Calumet Players favorite returns to the stage as Dolly Biddle, the
"regular-folks" long-time housewife and mother throws things in the mix
without necessarily measuring beforehand. New to the stage and the Pipestone
area is Rachel Kuphal as Stephanie Biddle the stressed out TV producer daughter
of Dolly who has the impossible job of keeping the peace in the studio. The
cast is rounded out by Krista Thode as the Camera Person who is also the Stage
Manager. The show is produced by Sylvia Newell, Graphic Design is by Mark Thode.

"The Mousetrap"
By Agatha Christie
Show times 7:30 pm except for Sundays at 2:00 pm
Agatha Christie's Murder Mystery is one of the most loved plays ever. The story
is about a young couple, Mollie and Giles Ralston, who have started up a new
hotel in the converted Monkswell Manor. They are snowed in together with four
guests and an additional traveler, who ran his car into a snowdrift. Detective
Sergeant Trotter arrives on skis to inform the group that he believes a murderer
is on his way to the hotel, following the death of Mrs Maureen Lyon in London.
When one of the guests – Mrs Boyle – is killed, they realize that the murderer
is already there. The suspicion falls first on Christopher Wren, an erratic
young man who fits the description of the supposed murderer. However, it quickly
transpires that the killer could be any one of the guests, or even the hosts
themselves.
