In the middle of a howling snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside diner. All roads are blocked, and the weary travelers are going to have to hole up until morning. Cherie, a nightclub chanteuse in a sparkiling gown and seedy, fur-trimmed jacket, is the passenger with the most to worry about. She's been pursued and finally kidnapped by a 21-year-old cowboy who has all the romantic notions of a headstrong bull. The belligerent cowboy is right behind her and ready to sling her over his shoulder and carry her back to Montana. Even as she's ducking out from under his embraces and screeching at him fiercely, Cherie pauses to muse, "Somehow deep inside of me I got a funny feeling I'm gonna end up in Montana..." In counterpoint to the main romance, the proprietor of the cafe and the bus driver find time to develop a friendship of their own; a middle-aged scholar comes to terms with himself; and a young girl who works in the cafe gets her own first taste of romance.

Welcome
Welcome to the theater. As newly elected President
of the Calumet Players, it gives me the greatest joy
to personally thank all of you, the theater patrons.
For we do all of this for you, and without your
continued financial support and volunteer work, none of
this would be possible. Exciting times are now open
for us. Not only are we now an officially formed
organization, we have also chosen an entire season and
set the dates for performances. We feel this will
offer you, the theater patron, a chance to make your
plans well in advance to attend the performances of
your choice. We are also starting to define a season
ticket-holders package for those (and I hope it
includes
all of you) who would like to attend all three
productions. It has been a tough but rewarding first
two years. Now we are ready to bring you the very
best
in community theater. So sit back, relax, and enjoy
this production of Bus Stop.
Thank You,John Dale Jacobson
Director's NotesFirst and foremost I need to thank John Jacobson. Without his work as producer, much of what you will see tonight would not be possible, because it takes many people behind the scenes doing their part so the actors can do their job. We need to find a way for more of our community to get involved if we are going to keep this group alive. We have a great need for more than just actors so if anyone reading is interested in helping in anyway, please, contact us. Thanks to the cast for the hard work. I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me. Enjoy the show! Bruce |

In real life I own Gannon's Restaurant. I would like to thank my family for being so patient and supportive during our crazy schedules."
Brad Thielsen (Will- the sheriff) is a mechanic at Dyke's Auto Repair in Pipestone. With no previous stage experience, I didn't know what to expect. I encourage everyone to get involved, its a blast! I would like to thank my wife Becky & son Tyler for their love and support and for running lines with me.

Bruce Kurtz (Dr. Lyman) is a sales representative for a sportswear company along with the job of Directing the last two shows for the Calumet Players. I want to thank the cast for bearing with me, being a first time performer. Will do it again some day - I hope! I live in Jasper, MN with my wife Ann. We have two grown children, Travis and Leslie and two grandchildren Kody and Allison. They all think this is really cool."
